Teaching Busy Dads How to stay Fit - October Athlete of the Month Cody Acree

Meet Cody Acree, our October Athlete of the Month! His journey to fitness started with a deep love for sports, playing football from a young age, and eventually competing at the collegiate and professional levels in arena football. However, his passion for fitness didn’t stop with sports performance. Inspired by the bodybuilding icons of his era, he took on the world of bodybuilding, starting as a hobby during his football career and evolving into a full-blown passion once he hung up his cleats.

As a competitive bodybuilder, Cody participated in over 15 NPC events from 2014 to 2021, ultimately earning his pro card at Nationals in December 2021. While competing, he also coached over 300 clients, helping them achieve transformative results. Today, Cody has stepped away from the competitive stage to focus full-time on his online coaching business, with his flagship program, The Fit Father Project - 60, designed specifically for busy dads who want to ditch the "Dad-Bod" and prioritize fitness without sacrificing precious family time.

A Day in the Life: Nutrition for a Busy Dad

Cody’s day of eating looks a lot different than it did during his competitive bodybuilding days. As a father with a wife and two young children, he now takes a flexible approach to his nutrition, while maintaining a solid structure to fuel his workouts and life as a coach.

  • Meal 1: Eggs, egg whites, cheddar cheese, bacon bits, a cinnamon bagel, and his famous "Muscle Coffee" (which includes raw eggs, chocolate whey protein, and black coffee)
  • Meal 2: Protein bar with a medium apple, before hitting the gym
  • Post-Workout: Premium Whey Isolate in Creamy Peanut Butter flavor with milk and a banana
  • Meal 4: Lean protein (chicken or beef) with jasmine rice
  • Meal 5: Mixed berries with a caramel rice cake and peanut butter
  • Meal 6: Dinner with the family, often something flexible like pizza, tacos, or burgers
  • Meal 7: Greek yogurt or cottage cheese, with a sweet treat to finish off the day

Favorite Titan Nutrition Products

As a peanut butter fanatic, Cody swears by Titan’s Creamy Peanut Butter Whey Isolate. He’s also a huge fan of Rebuild, which provides carbs, creatine, amino acids, antioxidants, and electrolytes—everything needed for an effective workout. And finally, he loves Pump Unrivaled, which delivers massive pumps thanks to its 10g of citrulline and provides a stim-free energy boost.

Advice to Beginners

One of Cody’s key pieces of advice to beginners is not to overcomplicate the process. He suggests focusing on small, daily actions—like working out for 30 minutes, drinking 100 oz of water, and avoiding fast food—that build sustainable habits. By setting these "non-negotiables," you’ll naturally move closer to your long-term goals without getting overwhelmed by the big picture.

Looking Ahead: Goals for 2024-2025

Cody’s goals are simple but powerful: to help as many fathers as possible build healthier lifestyles, allowing them to show up as better husbands, fathers, and leaders for their families. He’s ready to inspire more busy dads to take control of their fitness journey and eliminate the “Dad-Bod” once and for all!
